Colour:

As already mentioned in the second part of my handbag history post, these days handbags are available in many colours and materials. Your outfit will dictate the color of your bag more than your body type. But just in case you are concerned with how your bag compliments your frame, colors does make a difference! Depending on where the bag sits on your body together with the colour you choose, your handbag can either elongate you – or it can make you look shorter and heavier. If you dress colour-matching and carry a bag that is not very loud, this will create a better flow as it eliminates distraction.

But here to the individual colours:

Black handbags are a popular colour choice, as they go with every outfit, but maybe this is not what 2008 is all about? 2008 is all about colour and imagination, a black handbag is the easy way out.

Brown handbags limit your outfit colours to brown or beige clothing if you want to keep it colour coordinated.

White handbags can be a great choice for winter outfits or for the sunburned summary beach look and are very fashionable at the moment.

Basic tones will go the furthest with your wardrobe, so they are a good choice if you do not have a fortune to spend. Rich vanilla has been a popular choice for many celebrities this season.

Beige Handbag

Bright colours are great fun and a fantastic way to express your personality and sense of style. They just look rich! If, for example, you're dressed monochromatically, a bag in a striking color will interrupt your bodyline.
